What: Camp Hero is a leadership camp which hosts 40 of Western Australia’s most inspiring Year 9 to Year 12 students. The camp is facilitated by WA-based not-for-profit organisation zero2hero.

Camp Hero equips students with the skills required to become mental health leaders and ambassadors in their community. Our team of experienced mentors and facilitators will assist students in developing their understanding of the mental health arena through a series of specialised workshops and activities. Students will be encouraged to physically challenge themselves whilst at the same time learn how to communicate more proficiently and how best to care for themselves.

Participants will be selected based on their commitment to being a leader in their community and on their passion and desire to make a difference in the area of mental health. Please note that this is not a camp for mental health treatment or therapy and students who are unsuccessful are encouraged to explore other leadership opportunities.

Students are only eligible to attend Camp Hero once.

Where: Nanga Bush Camp

When: Tuesday 23rd – Saturday 27th April 2019

Transport: Bus transport will be provided to and from the camp for students. There will be one South pickup location and one North pickup location. Upon acceptance more information will be provided.

Speakers and volunteers will act in accordance with zero2hero’s code of conduct and child protection policy documents at all times and under the supervision of the zero2hero management team. There will be qualified first aid and bronze medallion volunteers on-site for the duration of the camp.
