Respected youth psychologist and mental health leader Chris Harris has officially joined the zero2hero Board of Directors as Clinical Lead, bringing over three decades of experience supporting young people across Western Australia.
Chris has built a career dedicated to improving youth mental health outcomes—whether in clinical settings, school-based programs, or corporate environments. From his leadership roles at Youth Focus Inc. to his current position as Head of Mental Health at Mineral Resources Ltd, Chris has consistently championed practical, evidence-based solutions that prioritise early intervention, accessibility, and real-world impact.
Throughout his career, Chris has worked closely with thousands of young people and families facing complex challenges related to mood, anxiety, and eating disorders. At Youth Focus, he led statewide mental health initiatives, spearheading partnerships with schools and community groups to deliver life-changing support to those who need it most. His leadership has also helped to shape mental health best practices in the mining sector—making Mineral Resources the first WA resources company to embed an in-house mental health counselling team.
Chris is also the founder of Oceanic Wellbeing, a passion project focused on supporting men in midlife through evidence-based, practical tools for emotional resilience and wellbeing.
Now, as Clinical Lead on the zero2hero Board, Chris will play a key role in guiding the organisation’s strategy and program delivery, ensuring that every initiative remains grounded in empathy, clinical insight, and a deep understanding of the needs of young people today.
“zero2hero has always stood out to me as a truly youth-driven organisation,” Chris said. “They meet young people where they’re at and empower them to become mentally stronger and more connected to their communities. I’m honoured to support that mission and help shape the next chapter of their work.”
CEO and Founder Ashlee Harrison welcomed Chris to the team, noting his long-standing contribution to youth wellbeing in WA.
“Chris is one of the most respected voices in mental health in our state. His experience, compassion and clinical insight will help ensure zero2hero continues to grow with integrity, impact and care. We’re proud to welcome him to the Board.”
As zero2hero expands its reach across both metropolitan and regional communities, Chris’s expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the organisation continues to lead the way in youth mental health education and early intervention.
Welcome, Chris. We’re better with you on board.
